New Bat standards

During the 2017 fall season there was an announcement email that went out regarding this new rule change. Effective January 1, 2018, USA Baseball, the national governing body for the sport of baseball in the United States, will adopt a new method for measuring bat performance for testing youth baseball bats. The new standard that is now required for most youth baseball programs including Pony.  The new bat standards must have a USABAT stamp on the handle of the bat to be used in Pony sanctioned games.

Here's a general guide to help with bat purchase. This chart is a good starting point. But it's more important that the player can swing with a level stance and swing without lifting elbows or dropping hands, "choking up" on the bat may help achieve this:
